Dignity Health Saint Francis Memorial Hospital is proud to announce the opening of its newly expanded Bothin Burn Center. Now the largest in Northern California, the burn center offers 16 beds and state-of-the art technology throughout.
“The Bothin Burn Center has served as a lifeline to thousands of patients since it first opened nearly 50 years ago,” said David Klein, MD, president of Saint Francis Memorial Hospital. “We are proud to continue the legacy of delivering the highest quality care for burn victims and their loved ones in this new cutting-edge space.”
It’s a 2:54 on a sunny Thursday afternoon in the gang-ridden Tenderloin district of San Francisco, and community volunteers wearing lime-green and orange vests are patrolling an 11-block stretch. Their mission is to keep area schoolchildren safe from drug dealers, gangbangers and other threats as the kids walk to their afterschool activities.
Tom Hennessy, CEO of Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, has stepped down to “spend more time with his family,” according to officials at Dignity Health, which runs the downtown San Francisco hospital. (San Francisco Business Times)
