Soon it will be even easier to see a doctor at the hospital clinics. Dr. Jeff Kepple, the hospital’s chief executive officer, said that he and the leadership team are working on a “prompt care program” that would provide same day service to patients. “To an extent we are already doing that with our express visits, but we want to take it up a notch,” he said. Could the three hospitals in Plumas County collaborate? Yes, but it could take some time.
“We’ve met for nine months and gummed this to death,” Plumas District Hospital CEO Doug Lafferty said during a recent interview. “Let’s finish the community needs assessment and figure out how to work together. I don’t want to talk collaboration until we know what we need to collaborate on.”
