The Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital (HHMH) Women’s Center opened five years ago this December, with the goal of combining modern technology and comfort. In 2019, the Women’s Center is expected to begin digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) for breast cancer screening and bring aboard a new pediatric hospitalist group, to advance the women’s healthcare services. The Hazel Hawkins Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that it has received its second largest charitable donation to date in order to establish what will be known as The Barragan Family Diabetes Center. The center is expected to include wound care, and will be the first and only one of its kind in San Benito County.
Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital’s two skilled nursing facilities have been on a major upswing for the past eight years, culminating in a 5-star rating from the Centers for MediCare & Medicaid Services in its most recent evaluations.
The Mabie Southside and Mabie Northside skilled nursing facilities received the combined 5-star rating (out of a possible five stars) in the recently released results from the CMS Nursing Home Compare study of nursing home facilities.
