Rideout hospital recovers off federal watch list

Rideout Memorial Hospital has met all conditions in its improvement agreement with federal officials and passed a key validation test to regain good standing in government health-care programs.

This milestone comes almost two years after a regulatory survey turned up a variety of issues related to patient safety— and federal officials threatened to shut the hospital down.

Rideout now meets federal standards for participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs and is no longer on the watch list. (Sacramento Business Journal)
